Lyrics
She pointed me out in the queue The armed men closed in on me "I'm legal!" I said with a gulp The reply was: " Oh yeah? We'll see!" I was bundled into their jeep Full of trepidation and fear One said as he gave me a punch "Don't you get it? You're not welcome here
You're not welcome here! We've got you a boarding pass You're not welcome here! You'll be out of here on your ass!
The women who pointed me out Had all her papers in order I was thinking of the bitch As they flew me over the border She wanted to prove she was loyal To her new paradise She was one of us, But with a heart of ice
CHORUS
Six months later I saw her Begging on a Managua street I wanted to give her a piece of my mind But dropped that when our eyes did meet I just said: "Citizenship revoked?" She nodded: "I'm sorry!" most sincere. "The white neighbour who pointed me out Said: "Go! You're not welcome here!"
CHORUS

Thanks. Done!
Sadly too much truth in these times …. Really wonderful story telling of a very difficult story nice use of “heart of ice.” Sigh…. This cuts deeply.
I knew the narrator was going to meet her again in Managua from the word go (Point- Counterpoint). But I didn't know what he would say to her there, until I was writing that verse.
I was so glad he didn't curse her, but rather saw that they were basically in the same boat and taking action against her would bring him down to the level of those who had deported them just for being different.
What a great take on the prompt. Sadly, very relatable lyrics and a fine delivery. Great stuff
Thanks. Those who think it'll never happen to them don't read their history books.
A colorful, current slippery-slope tale. The word choices and delivery make it that much more believable.
Thanks. See my answer to Liz (Kahlo2013)
This says it all. Love that chord progression and the lil guilele. Currently waiting for the evil bastards to get theirs.
We might have a long wait. Totalitarian regimes do not give up power easily. If congress don't remove him from office soon, the change may become irreversible.
Mrs Karma is a b**ch and some really deserved to meet her. You tell your story som well in all aspects of the performance. Great skirmish

Great lyrics, a very effective protest song! You should add the tag #protest to your liner notes!
