Ode to NH
by @bethyrose
Liner Notes
#NH #girlwithguitar I joke with folks about how I'm like a bad penny... I've left NH to travel a bunch of times but I just keep coming back! Lots of fun with this one thinking of just a few of the reasons why I love my home. We're pretty buried in snow here and expecting more Monday... but if I get a snow day it just means more time to play guitar! Started this song with the F-Am forum challenge but cheated and threw in a bunch of Gs cause I couldn't help myself lol.
Lyrics
Good ol' 603 There's no place I'd rather be Good ol' granite state You are my favorite place
There's nothing better than, Calef's cheddar Penny candy & more, at the country store
From the Kanc to the sea, this is the place for me Campfire s'mores, and scenic leaf tours
Good ol' 603 There's no place I'd rather be Good ol' granite state You are my favorite place
Sledding Wagon Hill, and an old town dam and mill Postcard perfect snow, with no place to go
Lighthouse off the shore, and a Star Island tour Places I love most, along the Seacoast
Good ol' 603 There's no place I'd rather be Good ol' granite state You are my favorite place
Oh New Hampshire No matter where I roam Oh New Hampshire You'll always be My home sweet home

Thanks for the comment, and you're so right, there are so many more things to add! Great suggestions!
This made me smile. I love a good NH-themed song. Well done!
Thank you! Hope you're doing well with all the snow!
I think this song is patriotic in the true sense: truly loving where you live, with all its randomness, and seeing the good in it.
wow this got me in my granite state feels! i feel grateful to call this place home even sometimes it doesn't always feel like it. i love all the little nods... calef's, the kancamagus, wagon hill, etc. so beautifully done. it so captures the uniqueness of here!
Thank you! Good luck with the incoming snow!!!!!
Nice. You give a very nice tribute to the state, and I can see a whole crowd singing along with this.
I can't just help thinking about all the other references you could have added here too: Winnipesaukee (the rhyme is right there!), The Common Man, The Hampton Tolls, The Old Man of the Mountain and Franconia Notch. Granted, there's so many things in the state you can't include them all!
