One time the devil

#rock #cheslaindrums So another fawmer, @cheslain , graciously posted some drum tracks for folks to use... I took one of his drum tracks and used it in the recording of this, vaguely political (tho not specific) tale of good and evil and evil that turns out a tiny bit good sometimes. Don't read too much into it, I'm not giving you-know-who a pass or anything, but I do think that when once in a blue moon something does not completely go wrong, we can at least acknowledge that that occurred.
I had alot of fun recording this- its a more elaborate, rock production for me. One track of rhythm guitar (doubled), then three seperate vocal tracks (there's so many words that I had to do it almost overlapping like that), bass, and lead guitar. Have fun! I probably need to tweak the mixing, (tell me what you think is too loud- the vocal maybe?) but this'll do for now. Enjoy!
Lyrics
We’re used to good and evil having their own codes But sometimes truth wanders down many crooked roads When a broken clock is right, it still just feels wrong No one likes when red and blue sing the same damn song
The devil’s still the devil, his sulfur still stinks Once in a blue moon his lunacy makes you blink The reasons may be suspect, the method hard to bless But just this once the outcome’s not a total mess
How did you do it It just ain’t your schtick Most everything you mangle Goes sideways real quick I’m not saying you’re not evil Don’t get used to it It’s just that this one time it did not all go to shit It’s just that this one time it did not all go to shit
Maybe we’re no different, we like to draw the lines We sort the saints from sinners in tidy little signs But sometimes what we’re certain of begins to slip a bit And something we dismissed doesn’t turn to shit
Maybe we like certainty more than what is true We like our heroes spotless and our villains painted through Evil’s still evil, I’m not blurring it a bit I’m just saying once in a while it doesn’t all turn to shit
Wait, are you telling me he’s not a narcissistic toxic clown? No, I’m not — don’t worry, I’m not letting you down
How did you do it It just ain’t your schtick Most everything you mangle Goes sideways real quick I’m not saying you’re not evil Don’t get used to it It’s just that this one time it did not all go to shit It’s just that this one time it did not all go to shit

Loud, angry, sweary goodness. I wonder who inspired this one?
I like a lot about this - the guitar licks, the spewing of words, the rhyming. I also like the sentiment of generosity. We all need a break sometimes - and speaking of breaks - some tasty solos thrown in here. Has a nice 70s rock vibe to the whole thing - excellent work
I saw those tracks - good on Cheslain! I like that guitar quietly squealing! message received! nice one!
