Lyrics
Underwear Man
[Verse 1] First he wanted socks Socks and socks and more socks give me socks, I need some socks The pleas were unorthodox.
Now it's give me boxers or briefs It's underwear he wants What the heck is going on? This was his response.
[chorus] They're for the homeless winter's cold and they're alone out in the weather where the wind always blows They can come to the shelters for a meal and a hot shower we can help by providing a change of clothes
[verse 2] now he's going out to play some songs and hopes you come along to his concerts and then you will join the giving throng
A guitar case open wide not for tips but hope inside every dollar, every pair tells somebody “someone cares”
[Chorus] They're for the homeless winter's cold and they're alone out in the weather where the wind always blows They can come to the shelters for a meal and a hot shower we can help by providing a change of clothes
[Bridge] It ain't about the spotlight glow or hearing people cheer it's about a warmer night for someone sleeping here Compassion isn't complicated it starts with small relief sometimes hope looks like a pair of boxer briefs
[Final Chorus] They're for the homeless let’s not look the other way we can turn a simple song into a warmer day Bring a pair, bring a friend let the kindness never end every thread can mend a soul when we choose to play our role

Awww...lovely sentiments. (And who amongst us couldn't use more socks and underwear--or so my mother used to think every Christmas. Sigh...) That being said--I can't hear any music. ❤️
It didn't load the first time, now fixed. Thanks for the heads up.
Right on! I really like how you fit a couple extra lines in the first verse. Hope can look kinda funny sometimes, brava!
