No Patience For Saints

Liner Notes

We all love someone who doesn't get it.

Lyrics

Tell me what you really do Crunch some numbers buy what’s new Put your money into what The fisherman’s already caught Finer things sophistication
Paintings without duplicates Traveling the world

But you don’t understand the art The sticky wheel on a shopping cart The blues To cry at some old movie’s end The way it feels to kick the can The truth To conjure something from the air It’s good it’s bad it’s really there The art I love you for you But I won’t put you on a pedestal

Tell me what does money mean Does greatness come from sights you see
Or what you eat or things you own Or what you do when you’re alone There’s no doubt that you’ve gone far Downtown commute you’ve worked hard For what you’ve got

But you don’t understand the art The lovesick longing poison dart The tune A technical appreciation Music is not calculation It’s blues The way it feels to sing and play And waste time in the sun all day Do you? I see you as you But I won’t put you on a pedestal

No patience for saints No patience for saints I know what I ain’t You got no patience for saints

God dude you’re so good at this. This guitar part is amazing. I love how you change the choruses, especially the line “music is not calculation, it’s blues.” Also “the lovesick longing poison dart”????? So good

You are! It’s the genie living in my four track & I have been continually wishing for more songs.

This tune has the coolest vibe and I love your voice!!! Great guitar sound you got there. The whimsy in the lyrics is such a feel good feel. I love your somewhat deadpan vocal delivery. It totally works. The story travels beautifully throughout. As for the lyrics alone....I LOVE your mind!!!! "no patients for saints"...who says that?????

Thanks :) Believe it or not, me and @cavesoil have a song called Here Comes Sunny Mae! I’ll see if I can get him over here next week to record it.

I love that finger picked harmonized guitar lick! Doubling the vocals in octaves at the chorus is a nice touch. Your chord progression has me vibin too. Enjoyed this so much I listened twice!
