Liner Notes

Working on my ability to play stride… and my Jazz piano skills. Wrote this one just for fun.

Performed it about 30 clicks slower and brought it up to 144 bpm. I am still proud of that😬 I am a percussionist trying to play jazz piano. I tried to get some “Fats Waller” vibes in the stride section and then the B section I was messing with 10ths in the left hand and juxtaposition of 9th chords in C Major.

Chad you play EVERY instrument better than me ;-) I enjoy how this piano jumps around, especially hitting some notes slightly outta scale giving a vibe. The ending was smooth

Thank you as always. I am just always trying to become a more well rounded musician. There are some out there like Jacob Collier, I know I can leave my mark but never even come close to what he does.

The interesting question is if you want to play like that. I don't want to. It's enough that my brain is messed up :D

Nice work! First jazz tune I think I've heard this FAWM. The interlude is quite lovely. I think I'm gonna go listen to some Art Tatum now!

Thank you! Tatum is a al time hero. Oscar Peterson and Tatum are I another world.

Lovely stride playing! I especially liked the more dissonant, experimental parts. The change up in the middle to a mellower sound was a pleasant surprise. The lyrics are fitting as well.

Thank you for the comments! I am glad you looked at the lyric as well. They are a rhythmic language generator.
