Loveless Lane

Had a lot of fun on this #randomcollaboration! Broke out the banjo on Nana's porch for some heartbreak advice. Lyrics: @kc_ Music: @alicelimoges
Lyrics
Grandma can you help me Need to see more clearly This bumpy life of life of “like” bumps along each night Not sure if it’s for me
Feel the storm a brewin’ Don’t feel the winds of woo’ing muddle in the puddle caught out in the rain Down on Loveless lane
I was looking for a little I’ve a lot to share Go exploring with a lover Who show’s his love and cares
There’s someone I’ve been dating It’s ok but not so great and Calls when he’s in need Not to speak with me
He’s quiet til convenience calls I’m happy to oblige But words and actions don’t add up And think we should divide
We’re in a like of white lies A kinda comfort that we know Dancing to our common song But really dance alone
Grandma can you help me need to see more clearly This bumpy life of “like” bumps along each night Not sure if it’s for me
Feel the storm a brewin’ Don’t feel the winds of woo’ing muddle in the puddle caught out in the rain Down on Loveless lane
Always Wonder if the good ones Are passing by each day Afraid to make the jump But surely feel the sway
Grandma can you help me need to see more clearly This bumpy life of life of “like” bumps along each night Not sure if it’s for me
Feel the storm a brewin’ Don’t feel the winds of woo’ing muddle in the puddle caught out in the rain Down on Loveless lane
In the silence hear her say Does absence make a brighter day Not a bird in the hand but a man for your heart If there’s no fire or spark better off that you part

Thanks!
Oh yeah I love the old timey feel of the banjo on this one. It feels like something you might have heard in hill country at the turn of the last century. Lines like “muddle in the puddle caught out in the rain / Down on Loveless Lane” and “But really dance alone” really stick with me. There’s a bittersweet honesty running through it. Great lyrics and an awesome collaboration.
