Liner Notes
Abby: Patty, @greengrassgirl Sent me some very open-minded and conversation-inducing lyrics, that I had a lovely time putting to music. It was a pleasure working with you on this, Patty :) #afterlife? #eternalquestions
Patty: I wanted to do a song with Abby, and these are the lyrics that resonated with her. I can't believe how quickly it went from lyrics to finished song! Thanks, Abby. Wish you lived next door!

Lyrics
V1 When my Earthly life is over How will I react When I set eyes on my Maker And discover God is Black V2 Or what if God turns out to be That woman on the street In a blanket on the sidewalk Tucking rags around her feet PC1 Cosmic implications Churning in my mind Guess I’ll never know till it’s time Ch I’m dying to find out If there really is a God I’m dying to find out If there’s a Great Beyond What’s coming next What should I expect I’m dying to find out If there really is a God V3 Maybe God is nothing like The image in my mind I would love to share the answer With all of humankind V4 Every human heart cries out No one really knows But the lucky ones feel something Bringing comfort to their souls PC 2 Is it God or Goddess Will it change my fate Hope I haven’t left this too late Ch I’m dying to find out If there really is a God I’m dying to find out If there’s a Great Beyond What’s coming next What should I expect I’m dying to find out If there really is a God

it is interesting that all the imagined conceptions of god are here humanoid. the nature of god, if there is one, i fear is impossible for us to nail down. that is why i prefer the second half of the song, during which you ask the larger questions. The music and performance truly gives me the feeling of a person searching, open to what may be revealed.
Oh, how perfect! I especially love V2 and the earthly implications. And I love the multiple meanings of "I'm dying to find out." The chorus melody works especially well.
"I'm dying to find out" is such a great line here, with a kind of double meaning. Very memorable. The whole song has so much space to just listen and take it all in. I really liked this one. Well done both
That bass in the first 2 slow verses really captured my attention ~ the low vibration resonates into the soul perhaps? I love how the song evolves. Great collaboration!
What a well-crafted exploration of existential questions! As usual beautifully played and sung. Very nice!!
Thanks Todd :)
A beautiful and thought-provoking song, delivered with such empathic and compassionate vocals. And +1 on the way the bass adds so much heft to the arrangement, too.
