Drop it like it’s hot

Liner Notes

I sat down tonight knowing my time to write is shrinking… the next two weeks are scheduling nightmares. This year has been a cram-fest…

Pick up the bass with some hooky pop lyrics I wrote. BAM… 💥 my first definitive New Stonewalls song of FAWM.

This is just a Indie Pop banger. The keyboard line is slightly tongue in cheek as a reference to The Cars. As is the flanger on the back ground vocals.

Super happy with this drum sound as well.

Tandem drum drops with some tea towel mutes… a lambs wool bass drum beater and a very aggressive performance to lock with the picked bass guitar.

Lyrics

Drop it like it hot

Half chorus Whoa oh oh Yeah yeah yeah Oh no no Not again V1 Skipping stones Enola Holmes It’s always got a A mystery Twisted rain hop a train Heading west Has so much History

Chorus Drop it like it’s hot Whoa oh Using what you got Yeah yeah yeah Oh no no Not again Drop it like it’s hot Dropping what you got Give me what you got

V2 Getting ready For this storm Too close for Comfort Hold it steady True to form only moments Make it count I know you got this but I think it’s gonna burn

Chorus

Drop it like it’s hot Give it what you got

This year you really got these short lyrics with multiple meanings. The lyrical entry is cool, and I love these drums here! The synths doesn't work for me, maybe just too loud, maybe too many sharp frequencies? Dunno?

I think the synth is just to hot in the mix… it clashes with the opening vocal. It is my tip of the hat to “The cars”. Rick Ocasek rip…

Nice groove. This is either encouraging, or a warning. That's what art is though, to be left up to interpretation. Nice mix and great work.

Thank you for the kind words! I agree 100 percent… the listener can make the call. Perhaps it’s “like a moth to a flame🤣”
