Extra, Extra
Liner Notes
Okie dokie, FAWMily. I took a lot of the advice I got about the burnout that comes about this time and spent a couple of days listening and not trying to write. And reading back through my binders with all the lyric scraps that I've never finished or put music to. I came across a verse that I remembered liking. This is an incredibly rough demo in the sense that I still need to fix some of the melody and possibly a bit of the chord progression. And the lyrics could flow better. I'm not upset at the couple hours work I spent on it today to get it post-able. Besides, FAWM isn't about perfect, it's about making it exist. I'll perfect it later.
Lyrics
in a story that surprises no-one bad things happen all the time
to good people who just want to have enough that someday they can afford to die
our sources tell us everybody saw it coming but they had to get to work on time
what would their friends and family think if they reported feeling nothing
extra, extra read all about it we've got good intelligence so you don't have to doubt it in fact it's probably best if you don't think about it at all
when interviewed a resident insisted there were no clues to indicate this outcome
everything seemed normal nothing out of place not a single solitary sign of trouble
extra, extra read all about it we own the information so don't you dare doubt it in fact it's probably best if you don't think

I didn't hate it as much when I listened back to it again this morning. It just felt so awkward while I was making it. Thanks for the listen!
Insightful lyric; liked the chords a lot. This song says a lot about things, carries a lot of weight, even with its current 1-guitar-1-voice configuration. I really like what you've done. Keep doing it!
Glad you liked it. I had the hardest time setting music to these because there's not a lot of rhyme happening. Lyrics will probably change a bit once I go back to it after this month is over.
Some real and interesting thoughts. Yes. I don't know how to avoid FAWM burnout, except to heed the advice everyone seems to be giving. It's good advice, with restorative sleep being the best, I'd say. Nice, contemplative song!
Thank you! Also, thanks for the soundcloud follow. Everything I have on there at the moment is wayyyy old. But I'm working on it.
I really dug this. This lyric hit me so well: "Our sources tell us \ everybody saw it coming \ but they had to get to work on time", and the way that played with the chord progression. Also, the end of your chorus into the little interlude was a great tonal shift. I enjoy demos like this a lot. Good work!
