There are two meanings to my name - Oren which means pine tree in Hebrew, and Orin/Odhrán which means “pale green” or “little green one” in Irish/Gaelic. I picked the Irish spelling since that’s more in my ancestry.

Lyrics
My Name is Orin
It’s the last snow of March, and I cannot sleep So I watch the sun as it slowly creeps Orange over the pines like an open mouth And I hear a word from the sparkling boughs
Your name is Orin now Don’t ask us why, don’t ask us how Your name is Orin now
I saw gods in the sky, and I got super high Then I ran out of drugs, but it still took a while To come back to myself, then it hurt like hell When the sun comes up, and you’re left to pick up
After a party that you didn’t plan And you burnt your house down to the land But the pines stand sentry still
My name is Orin still I trust the trees, though it’s my will My name is Orin still And they named me
After themselves, I am the pine That tries too hard to reach too high My name is Orin still
And it’s almost March, two years gone by And I’m still green, I don’t know why When the star gods shine at the top of the sky I know they were me all of this time
My name is Orin still For it’s my will My name is Orin still
I am still green, but I’m the pine Who’s rooted deep and reaching high My name is Orin still
My name is Orin still

Your voice(s) touch me, the story has something mystical about it, and the bass ukulele gives the whole song a wonderfully calm continuity, like walking through a pine grove.
I love this as a song and I love this as a story. The harmonies are gorgeous. Thank you for sharing this with us!
Very cool exploration of choosing names and becoming yourself! I love the line about seeing gods in the sky. Great harmonies too!
That rolling uke is really beautiful. Lovely harmonies. That little turn on "still." You're a brilliant vocalist. Lyrically, this is super personal. I'm glad you decided to share it with us. You can feel the depth of it as you listen.
