Liner Notes

#skirmish #Reckless #country #folk #acoustic So I wrote the words at work within the skirmish time frame. But all things considered, this might as well be cheating. Haha

A fine friend, @cathreu just gave me the do dad that lets me directly drop to FAWM rather than host from SC. So kind, though I am so not worthy! 😭😭 thanks so much friend! My FAWM continues!

Lyrics

I like driving too fast, Without wearing a belt I like waving my hands around, and starting to yell I like drinking too much, I love smoking some leaves I hate cooling it down, Love raising some hell

I’m the kinda guy that’ll go before anyone goes Moving in a way that screams “Got nothing to lose” Aiming for a shot at a target that only God knows Boiling hot machine that’s missing just too many screws

** Self-control don’t look at all the same When you’re on the edge I’m hardly ever playing safe There ain’t a lot of bets to hedge Any wall that’s in my way You best believe, gonna feel my wrath It’s Reckless, you might assume But i’m making my path **

I like climbing on steel that’s up in the sky If no one is around when I fall, can you tell them I learned to fly? I like finding risky women at the bars around close If they call me back, I hope I wasn’t the last guy

I hate mincing my words, I like unfiltered truth Lots of colorful words that your kids shouldn’t say Some wince at the words, some think it’s uncouth Some don’t wanna hear it, claim it ruined their day

what a cool song and an amazing skirmish! so fun but smart as well! great melody and you vocals are just right sung in that almost matter of fact style.

Thanks Bud! I think the leisurely pace of the song works for bumping against an “Obviously Dangerous” individual. Haha

This is a fantastic take on the skirmish prompt! Very fun

Thanks man! Thanks for the listen!

@rbachman

LOVE the melody of the verse against the plucky palm-muted guitar. Great chord changes through the chorus, and the way it stands out from the verses. Love "can you tell them I learned to fly" Great skirmish!

This one was so much fun to make…. as soon As the idea clicked. Lol I strruuuugggggled to make heads or tails on this one when I recorded it. But following the K.I.S.S mantra, we overcame! Thanks for stopping in!

That lyric is my personal favorite. Embodying a reckless man, well, most of us are barely socialized anyway so it’s easy to dial myself to 10 and just go nuts lol haha

Oh I love those chord chops. This is so much fun. The lyrics are chef's kiss. I'm so glad you wrote this! I'm so very amused.

I think playing with dynamics more will help in the long run for me. Thank you for all your prompts, it’s been helping me level up my writing this wholemonth!

I started cackling and grinning at the first line! The power chord chops add just the right amount of swagger to this clearly dangerous person's story. Catchy as all hell with fun ass lyrics.

I like climbing on steel that’s up in the sky If no one is around when I fall, can you tell them I learned to fly?

Just lmao, but also ouch

Thanks again for the peace sign! And I am glad you enjoyed this one. I’ll just say it’s for you now since you helped me get it up here. Haha

I love ascending and descending bass lines - yay!! Great guitar. I like the combo of the picking and strumming. Oh love the middle eight - wonderful lyrical pacing. I also really like the melody here - it really sets is apart. Oh and you ended it with it also - perfect!! These lyrics are delightful - so many great lines like "I like climbing on steel that’s up in the sky If no one is around when I fall, can you tell them I learned to fly?". Also this one "Aiming for a shot at a target that only God knows" - and I love how you alter the melody a little on this line. Fabulous vocals of course. This is such a fun song and a great skirmish. How lovely of @cathreu to get you setup with your peace sign and an end to your SoundCloud hell!

I really appreciate how much you look for and notice in other’s works! Makes sense with how skilled you are in your own compositions. I really try to make conscious, compact minis with these skirmishes, but your feedback makes me feel like I spent eons on it! Thanks again for checking in, and shouts out to @cathreu indeed! What a pal, what a pal!
