Liner Notes

#bluegrass #guitar #mandolin #banjolin #fiddle Here's me putting on my hat of, kind of, a rogue. The 'love 'em and leave 'em' kind of guy. This is probably furthest from my personality type... I've always been the one that was dumped. Anyway, it was fun putting together all my alter egos in 'the band'.

Lyrics

Move On Down the Line

Chorus: It’s been good, it’s been mighty fine... Easy, laughing all the time. Before it gets old, before it’s icy cold... It’s time I move on down the line.

Never been the kind, to hang around... Couldn’t make it work, if I tried. Just might promise you, that I’d stay Then you’d just find out that I lied.

Chorus: It’s been good, it’s been mighty fine... Easy, laughing all the time. Before it gets old, before it’s icy cold... It’s time I move on down the line.

Instrumental:

You’re too good for the likes of me... Wouldn’t take so long for you to see. I’m the one your mama warned you about... Ask, I’m sure she would agree.

Chorus: It’s been good, it’s been mighty fine... Easy, laughing all the time. Before it gets old, before it’s icy cold... It’s time I move on down the line.

Before it gets old, before it’s icy cold... It’s time I move on down the line.

For a song about a bad, bad man, this is pretty darn joyful. Love your upbeat strumming and picking, and the relish with which you tackle the lyrics is infectious. Really, really enjoyable. (You rogue!)

Fun song! If you ever revisit this, it would be great if you could incorporate that perfect line from your Liner Notes: "I've always been the one that was dumped!" I enjoyed this.

All my songs posted are essentially the first draft. I go back and continue to refine them. I actually thought this one needed a 3rd verse. Great suggestion to kind of turn the sang around. Thanks!

I like the easy charm of this song, and of your performance; we definitely get the sense of a glib ladies' man without a care (or a moral) in the world. There's a sly wink in your vocals, and the upbeat, chirpy instrumentation sells the character as well. Tons of fun!

Always cool to write a song from a different perspective. This is a fun bluegrass song, and it's well performed. I enjoyed my listen.
