Dream and Create
Skirmish: No nouns, no pronouns. (@bergie)Liner Notes
I saw this challenge (and skirmish or not, no nouns or pronouns is definitely a challenge) well after the skirmish ended, and it definitely took more than an hour, but without the skirmish, this song certainly wouldn't have happened.
This is kind of an affirmation or aspiration chant, at least in my mind. I wrote it for me, not with anyone else in mind. Mind you, I might give some or all of this as advice if asked, since I think it is good advice, but that was not my purpose in writing this song.
I used an unusual purple steel tongue drum I got from my brother and a two bell samba agogo I also got from my brother. I was thinking of adding a higher harmony line and maybe some drums, but got called to dinner, and now I'm wanting to do something else new.

I gave up on this one. You showed me what I could have done. I could really imagine this chanted at a sweat lodge!
You put me in a sort of trance, gorgeous! The spoken word flows so nicely into the singing section
The ancient Greeks had hymns to the muses. This would certainly qualify. The used of only verbs and adverbs gives this an imperative sense, as if it is a commission for one to go out and create. Create I accept the commission.
Nicely done. I saw the skirmish, read no nouns, and noped out.
That was my first reaction. But the idea kept teasing my brain. It wouldn’t let go until I tried to do it.
Hypnotic in way. That clock just hurts in my tooth but thats because my headphones. Cool mood and vocal layers.
That’s actually great feedback. If I decide to polish this, I’ll want to tone down the samba agogo a bit. (It sounded fine in my headphones, but those were made for recording.). Thanks for listening!
Thanks for adding this to the Ignored Instruments challenge! The bells and tongue drum give this an Asian feel, while the harmonies evoke an almost Victorian feel to it.
