Who Do You Say I Am?

Liner Notes
#girlwithguitar #christian #collaboration This song explores the question that Jesus asks in scripture: Who do you say I am? This is all thanks to @earlyboon who wrote out a bunch of lyrics and sent them to me to play with! We traded a bunch of sound clips and recordings back and forth until we managed to get to the gist of what she had in mind. There's a strong potential for a rising bridge at the end of the song but we couldn't quite nail it down, that's gonna have to be a post-FAWM project to fiddle with...
Lyrics
Who do you say I am? Man, myth, legend Lunatic, liar, Lord The questions at the core Nothing matters more
(we just want) Vending machine Jesus (junk food for my soul) Buddy buddy teacher man (where anything can go) Political figurehead (to back my rally call) History so long ago (was he there at all)(was he there at all)
Who do you say I am Man, myth, legend Lunatic, liar, Lord The question’s at the core Nothing matters more
Eras change, You remain Eras change, you remain
Wholly man, holy God Bread of life, good shepherd Lion Lamb, Great I am Creator Spirit Son Three in One
The Mystery The one who saved me
Eras change, you remain
Who do you say I am? Who do you say i am?
(nothing matters more)

Thank you so much for the feedback and for giving our song a listen!
A lovely cowrite that gets to the most important thing. Who is our Lord Jesus Christ? Thankful He is my Lord and Savior.
Thank you! The idea for the lyrics have been simmering in my head since last FAWM, so happy to work with @bethyrose to bring them to life.
This is very well written. Lots of gold nugget lines. I think the 'we just want' section is so totally on point for what I see today. And I've long enjoyed the Lunatic Liar Lord apologetic. It's fun to see it in song.
Your playing and singing are super clean too. There's a slight breakup in your voice in the second time of 'questions at the core, nothing matters more' on the words 'at' and 'matters'. I really (yes really) like that sound. It feels so emphatic and authentic, adding depth to the lyrics.
Great write!
