This @coolparadiso lyric was written with the view that I would put it to music however, when reading it I realised that the subject matter was very personal and vulnerable and I knew then and there that I had to put music to it. I only hope that I do this lyric justice with my music.

John Corey and i have a special connection and when this lyric popped up, i didn't feel like the one to sing it and I knew Corey was the one. Thx Mate

I like the slow deliberate pace of the song - letting these poignant lyrics really touch the listener. The melody is just perfect, and sung with such tender care. The backing track is lovely - I like the touch of violin and the minimal nature of it - to really let the vocals shine. Such a nice rise in the chorus. This song is so relatable. I also like how the story progresses and we learn in the last two lines that it is about the loss of a parent. What a beautiful tribute to your mom John. This is such a touching and memorable song. Great collab!

Excellent, very personal lyrics full of depth and love. Performance is emotional and sad, but with a spark of hope. Nice vocals!

I love the space and time you took to give these tender lyrics room to breathe and tell their story. @coolparadiso thank you for sharing your heart and memories "I wrote it especially for you To tell you how things are I hope you like the update Played on my best guitar" brought tears to my eyes. Like a child running to get their favorite toy and bring it to their best friend or grandpa. The ultimate compliment and sentiment of love. @songwritingzen your grounded and perfectly paced arrangement gave room and space to honor each word and your voice reflected both the pain of loss and the joy of love. Gorgeous guitar melodies and all the musical/percussive elements are top-tier. Also, the vocal delivery of John's beautifully structured and heartfelt lyrics is so well-done, you guys are awesome!
