Skirmish: Burn down to rebuild (@robinleaf)Liner Notes
My cat was begging to go outside during this entire hour. Finished up and she was so excited to go out... but it's night now. I feel really bad and she might burn me down as I sleep.
Short because I did everything. #indie
Lyrics
You've kinda captured me Isolated me I didn't even see it coming
Burned bridges all around me I chose you And you destroyed me too
What more am I supposed to do What more am I supposed to say What more am I supposed to know Supposed to give Supposed to pay
Our time is smoldering Our love's already turned to ashes
Poured the the gasoline Lit the final match Finally free

Mmm...I love the way your voice soars above the big backing track. It's all so wistful...imbued with so much emotion. Nice rocking guitars, too. I would have been happy if it had remained a quieter number, but I really like the way you kicked it into gear
Love what you did with the synths! Love your voice, so sweet and clear and on pitch! Love the story and the tempo change in the chorus!
There is such a great buildup in this song. I love that, when you've said everything lyrically, you let the guitar do the talking until the end. It's always a joy listening to your tunes.
This is great - I love the way it builds - and the lyrics in the โwhat more am I supposed to. . . โ section really hit home! I wish you would expand this and keep going! Great take on the prompt! ๐
Oh gosh this is so good!! You have it all - synth, bass, guitar and drums. I just love the melody, the lyrical pacing and phrasing, the gorgeous vocals - it is all there. I confess I want more - if you have time to come back to this please tag me. The song has such a nice flow too. I really hope your cat lets you survive the night. You are a hoot by the way - I am still smiling over your liner notes. Great skirmish!
Great track! I really like your take on the skirmish. Your vocals sound great! Really nice melody and vibe. I especially love it when the drums come in at the chorus. Really nice! I can see this as a full-length track if you ever get time to finish it!
Thanks :) It came together pretty quickly, besides the lyrics (which never do). Originally had drums in the beginning too, but, as drums tend to do, it wasn't working out. Turns out I actually prefer the drums coming in later.
Lovely vocals, and rich synthesizer backing. I like the sliding bass line. Real heartache for a breakup song. Great final stanza!
This is so cool.. such a great musical track, loving how it builds and dissipates. The lyric is definitely sucking me in. I think the melody reinforces it well. This song just hits hard without going heavy.
