Why Even Bother?
by @sadloaf
Lyrics
I’m testing my teeth Macerating good endings and spitting them out as an apology I’m sorry but Recently I’ve been so hungry
But if memory serves I offered up Enough for everyone To fill their cups and then some If it ended up draining out of the bottom You probably took more than you could handle
If you Are confused: If i am generous There was a benefit
There is no accounting for taste In the modern day it seems It isn’t enough to merely to want to swallow me I’m gonna need you to need to order another, another If it stops here then why did I even bother? It’s so typical now to monetize Making the hammer, the anvil, the stirrup feel nice And the tastemakers must have lost my number If it stops here then why did I even bother?
I’m testing my strength Desecrating opinions and spitting them out as eulogies I’m sorry But recently I’ve been so lonely
But if memory serves I opted out Nobody to blame for an empty house but myself But at least isolation saves on the cleaning Separating actions from all of their meanings
If you are confused If I am relevant I orchestrated it

This is a masterpiece!
The speed and power with which you deliver the lyrics and drive the piece forward with your unique style of spoken word is simply magnificent! And that percussion, which sounds like clockwork towards the end, allowing us to listen to the loneliness! Definitely one of the best pieces I've heard here so far!
Oh my - "Macerating good endings and spitting them out as an apology" is an amazing line (and the matching line in a later vers). And such interesting production here that keeps the whole thing feeling a bit off-kilter.
Oof. Welp, feel ya here. Self imposed overuse and disposal to isolation pipeline.
As always, I love how ya put it together. The clanky percussion like dowels in a cup are doin it for me.
Love the vocal delivery of this track and the way that the mechanical noise in the background is almost fighting for attention - lots of interesting things going on here.
