A small reminder…

Lyrics

A small reminder Wash your hands before you go back to work A quick aside Use the inside of your elbow when you cough or sneeze A tiny tidbit It’s best to be more kind than to be a jerk A slight suggestion Make sure you give some thanks after asking, please

It’s not just a small thing It’s not just one small thing

Mona Lisa wasn’t only made with red paint She got a couple of hues Rome wasn’t built with a single brick I’m sure you’ve heard all that news

Day by day, the home is built By all the seeds you’ve sewn No need for swinging hammers At the roses that you’ve grown Get the ducklings in a file And heed a righteous call Life is not a small thing But it’s made up from them all

A humble hope You wish your friends and family the best A gentle gesture Smile at a stranger once a day A little lesson If you mean it, say it with your chest A mini mantra Love them till they have to go away

It’s not just a small thing It’s not just one small thing

The light finger picking and slow paced singing really reflect the simple truth of what you're saying. You start off with the common health courtesies (Employees must wash hands) and go on to personal and emotional courtesies. In a way well told.

Thanks for dropping in. People really seemed to like the gentle delivery of this one and I am glad you liked it too. Cheers. Hope you smiled at a stranger today!

Lovely guitar fingerpicking and great vocal delivery. Hard to pick a favourite lyric as it's all fantastic and even more so as it's a one hour skirmish. 'No need for swinging hammers At the roses that you’ve grown' is such a powerful image, and 'Love them till they have to go away' is bittersweet. And I really love the repeated refrain of 'It’s not just a small thing, It’s not just one small thing'. Great job!

I really appreciate you stopping in and giving such a thoughtful review. My favorite lyrics personally was the hammer and roses bit, so I am glad you appreciated it. Thanks again!

I really like the intro as outro approach. I noticed the sorrow you put into your vocals after the part about them leaving. This is a very sweet song with a sweet delivery. The overall concept is a great take on the prompt, but there are some sentiments I particularly like. When I arrived in the Netherlands, and many times sense, people have warned me that the Dutch are unfriendly. Nothing could be farther from the truth. My wife and I have been greeted on the street quite often by complete strangers, and I have found that a smile and a greeting gets me a smile right back and makes my day. It is indeed the small things, every day, they make us happy. The small things even if no one knows.

The power of a small act of kindness far outweighs the effort put into it. Just be kind and be present and most of life gets easier. i truly appreciate you stopping in. Thanks for the listen!

A gentle lesson on living a life. Nice guitar picking, Cheers

Thanks Mr Goldie!

Some wise words indeed. It always amazes me when I see people coughing openly in the street as if Covid never happened. Some lovely lines here and a great take on the prompt

Thank you Gordon! I appreciate you stopping by to give me another go.

Clever idea formed out to a book of ideas. Really good message , nice guitar and very nice gentle vocals!

[pic]

Book of ideas is such a pretty way to put it. Thanks for stopping in!

A full measure of good advice delivered in a casual way. "Smile at a stranger once a day" is a very good thing to do depending on where you live. I live in Kentucky and most everyone does that without being told.

I’m down here for work! I’m up in Shelbyville and the people are mighty kind!

What a fascinating exploration. I love how you move through this with such a soft wise delivery. That's the kind of guitar picking that takes me 2 weeks to learn.

I appreciate you checking back in on me man. Honestly honored to have you poking around. Keep creepin’ and creating so I keep creepin’ and creating man!

Beautiful song and sentiment. Beautiful singing, playing and take on the prompt. Very enjoyable to listen to.

Thanks for the kind words! I appreciate the listen!

Sage advice - and let's hope we're teaching our children well! Nice guitar work and vocals. I sat out this skirmish - wish I'd had the inspiration to produce something so fine.

Thanks for dropping in! I’m blessed that these prompts pull something decent out of the garbage pail on my shoulders haha I hope the next generation can still be kind to one another!

Nice fingerstyle guitar work - I like the humor in your lyric with good advice. I can definitely use some of the advice that is provided. I really like the way you sing "it's not just a small thing." Nice skirmish!

Thanks for popping in man! I hope someone takes a little bit out of some of my tunes, I am certainly not making them for just me, but as a musician like everyone else here that’s just a given :) cheers!

Love the bright guitar and the lovely fingerstyle playing. Great take on the prompt. Wonderful advice on how to be a good human. These lines are so great "Life is not a small thing But it’s made up from them all" - so very true!! I also like the simplicity of your chorus - a nice contrast to your verses, and a great way to get the main point across - and the second line with just one additional word (no pun intended) to set it apart. Also the melody on that line is a perfect transition. Great skirmish!

Thanks for the thoughtful reply! These skirmish topics are just ripe with opportunity to make some good poetry. Thanks for listening!
