Interesting prompt. Well, it started out sweet and took a turn. Not sure how that happened, but these things do, don't they. It's a small thing....

Lyrics

As promised the snow has appeared It happens so rarely round here In slow motion, swirling and steady Dusting the roofs and the cars

The tourists prefer to stay in warm bars The pavements are turning white It’s a small thing, but it’s a change Plans for the night re-arranged

Collars turned up to challenge the cold Hoping to keep it at bay Bracing yourself as the wind hits your face It’s a small thing, but it makes a difference

Pockets turned out as you go for a shower A receipt from a place you said that you’d never been Just a small thing, but it makes such a difference I used to care, but now I’m indifferent

Just a small thing, before I leave you One last thought to reveal You’re not the man you think you are It’s a small thing, and you can give it to Camille

Oh the mystery here is great and I love how well it works without a trad rhyme scheme. The reveal/camille works so well, along with the cool indifferent delivery. Draws you in, from a distance.

I was very confused by this song - in a good way! I thought it was going to be about snow and then it changed up to be much more interesting. I had to read the lyrics twice because I didn't understand the pockets turned out part - like I was thinking turned INSIDE out, for some reason. And then I was wondering, who's Camille?? And the gender/sexuality thing is intriguing - like it's a man singing about their lover going off with Camille. I love intriguing lyrics.

I got whiplash real quick from the plot twist gordon! I mean the minor tonality of the song suggested danger was imminent, but the lyrics sealed the deal! Minor key, Major problems! I like how you sang the hook “It’s just a small thing, but it makes a differene”

Funny how a prompt can take an unexpected turn - mine did for sure. But yours took a nice turn in my opinion. Strong lyric sung and played well. I relate to the lyric - I am soooo tired of winter, it's been so cold where I live.

Strong story and delivery. Sad and poignant. Beautiful singing and playing ✨️

It did indeed take a turn. I was just taking a little walk through your town when, all of a sudden, big drama!

Those receipts can be the little pieces of evidence that lead to bit problems. I love the mystery

That vocal is perfect to tell this story. After that opening piece of landscape painting, you really open up Pandora's box to reveal a mystery we need to think about to solve.

wait what, who's Camille? I'm loving all the wintery songs on FAWM this year, but then something happened. Unexpected, so of course I was pulled to the story. Good skirmish!

Lovely sounding tune. Guitar & vocals work well together. Small things certainly have weight as does your tune here. Enjoyed listening.
