It was back in 1971, I took a trip it wasn’t too long and I decided it was time to paint my guitar It used to be, Fender Red, but I liked the color of my cat instead, so I now have a calico axe to play at bars.

If I’m being honest, I’m last week, could be last month, likely a geek, sometimes I try and other times I don’t If you think you’re here, you might be there and I don’t care if you bleach your hair, but to me it’s more about something than nothing at all. I was thinking about a day last week, when someone important started to speak and I’m in a stupor, holding up the wall. But there she stood, looking somewhat fine, with a cigarette and a glass of wine, and all of the sudden she asked about my guitar

This is fantastic. Render … fender is a new favorite rhyme. Amazing job getting all the lyrics out without tripping up. Great song.

Wow! Awesome-- the entire thing-- lyric, voice, melody, made me smile. I especially like the lines: " looking somewhat fine, with a cigarette and a glass of wine" Soo cool, overall!!

LOL at "strat not a cat". Superb take on the skirmish. Did you really paint a vintage Strat? How did that work out on resale value? Great skirmish, and thanks for sharing!

Thanks! And I’ve never painted a strat like a calico cat. It’s all fiction. But I like the idea of it.

"It's a strat not a cat" is one of my favorite lines ever. I'll be sharing this with my daughter and her musician-fiance. Among their four cats is a calico female, "Chuck Norris" who might or might not appreciate this as much as I did. Great writing, great performance, great skirmish.

Fabulous delivery! Compelling story -- I wanted to hear what happened next. "Calico Fender" is a wonderful phrase. A line to put a smile on any face: "It used to be, Fender Red, but I liked the color of my cat instead, so I now have a calico axe to play at bars." And wrapped up in a tall tale too. Good work!

Super take on the prompt (and your random words). Great addition to the "talking blues" genre that Dylan was so fond of in his early days. I think a Calico Strat would look super cool.
