Liner Notes

This was a challenging prompt. I was hitting and hitting, and hitting, and hitting again to find all the words I could connect with. Typically there were 2 or maximum 3. Then I found all the words: loss, ocean, foot, judge, request All in one place. At last. Then I could connect with what it feels like losing someone dear. Unfortunately I know this first hand. Here are my lyrics. I don't have music. Please let me know if you are interested in collaborating with me. Title could be changed.

Lyrics

You and Me Lyrics © 2026 Nadia Cripps

I'm looking at the ocean I feel strangely connected With its waves slowly crashing Abd making me strangely affected

No doubt grief never goes away Loss of you is staying forever There is no night or day When I don't miss being with you, smiling together

With one foot on the ground and another feeling the waves My only request is for you to be near So sorry I don't visit the graves I don't want to believe that you can never be here

I will never judge, I wouldn't complain I'm ready for anything you'd suggest Waiting for you in our love lane Ignoring the wind from the north west

I believe in magic, let it be Always together, you and me

I love fresh lines and "with one foot on the ground and another feeling the waves" is one. The "I will never" judge verse has an unnerving combination of desperate longing and (maybe) unhealthy boundaries. Especially "I'm ready for anything you'd suggest," which, given that following line about "our love lane" suggests sexual surrender. "Ignoring the wind from the north west" has a sense of foreboding that strengthens the overall lyrics.

Oh, what a beautiful and honest lyric you've crafted. I think everyone can identify with the feelings you've captured so vividly here. Well done.
