Quiet Sunday morning, household chores, laundry. Using a title from the Muse. #guitelel #acousticonetake #sadness #hope
Lyrics
If I were a blue toy
[Verse 1] If I were a blue toy I'd be all alone Up on a shelf Or places unknown
Watching and waiting for someone to love me Hoping for someone to help me be free
[verse 2] If I were a blue toy I'd watch passersby Maybe I'd shed A tear from my eye
Seeking a playmate who would check me out Longing for a friend and loved without doubt
[bridge] But what if the color was never the shame? What if my blue is my beautiful name? Maybe the right hands just haven’t arrived Maybe I'm waiting to finally feel alive
[verse 3] So, if you’re out there, Walking these aisles Look a little closer, Don’t pass me by
I’m more than a toy with a painted-on tear I’m someone worth choosing — I’ve always been here

Thank you. I can relate to many of these folks.
Very nicely done - could be just what it says or could be much more about the whole issue of neglected feelings. whatever its such a pretty song !
Thank you. Many years being a secondary school teacher- I have seen my share of blue people.
i'm speeding down a desert highway in a convertible, driving away from the love that will never be.
Great line to start a new song.
It's not easy being...blue? I love how you captured the point of view of a neglected toy on a shelf. Lovely vocals and instrumental.
Thank you.
Very cool to personify a toy! But also to extend to humans and all that goes into feeling abandoned or overlooked or old
The title led me down that pathway. I picked the title first from The Muse. Thought it would allow me to develop a theme of mixed emotions.
@mandolinda oh very cool, well, you nailed it!
The theme of self-love from a toy's pov? Creative musings! Thanks for sharing
Following the Week 3 challenge of Mixed Emotions.
Great lyrics. They really pull you in.
Thank you.
I love the Velveteen Rabbit story so welcome more about sentient toys. Sometimes I apologize to a stuffed animal for leaving them too long between cuddles. The line that starts “What is my blue is” really caught me.
Ha. I have a CHristmas teddy bear beside my instrument cases, not a blue toy around. It’s one of those, push it’s belly and it shakes and sings.
Poignant, succinct, and surprisingly put! This is a good 'un.
Thanks for the listen.
Painted on tear. So evocative. This is such a wonderful theme for a song. I think everybody can relate to that lonely little toy
