Liner Notes

#hiphop #indierap Tim: I sent an earlier version of this beat over to @nahlej381 and told him he had free reign. He sent me back a pretty sick verse so I tried to use that vibe to create the hook (with a little inspiration from an RTJ hook) and added my verse. It sort of fits the vibe of the other songs I've made so far this year and working with Adam is always a good time. He's the man.

Adam: Tim always blows my mind. He sent me a cool beat I sent him a pretty weird verse and he went with it. He’s a 10.

Lyrics

if it was up to me you'd turn around and walk away wouldn't come as a surprise at all How do you think that I'll survive without you now day in day out? it's not a setup, are you concerned now? it's just a little further down, end of the road right where that door is open there trust in the process, there in the darkness some of us can't be saved tired of falling, never advancing all of us can't be wrong here understand that you can be alone destination is the octogon here in the sand, take fate in your hands strike fear with your words won't move on, can't find the strength to prove wrong down in the basement 'till way past dawn find the light but don't turn it on, don't wanna see personality trait red flag 101 pack your belongings and run best to forget this person ever existed at all play your position, I'd like to bring to your attention to the difference between me and you direct opposition to the things that you do with doubt sinking in it's only a matter of time before it gets confused this is thin ice up on top send in the troops we 'aint got time to lose

how the dread can be relentless and thoughts can go on runs like the clouds are feeling endless, smoke filling up your lungs asking someone for forgiveness for something you have done avoid facing reality that you'll never outrun

Cold and bleak magnificent desolation That’s the imagery Sideshow geek disillusioned chewing up the scenery Kick rocks beat feet pass the mic and crank the beat speak my mind and tame the beast feed the flame it just eats and eats Golly gee, mister Beauty was right here, you just missed her tale of two cities it’s all tails and whiskers teeth and dentures indentured servants and unpaid interns watertight like cisterns the truth will set you free but damn that shit hurts cigarette burns live and let learn know what I mean, Vern? Every day the new craziest shit I ever seen I never sleep hypnos never bless me Morpheus never sends me a dream glean the insights peep the insides sneak a head high Brother in Christ Mother Nature and Father Time like why oh why have you forsaken me this heady realm is breaking me clean I’m shaking like a leaf trying to break me off a piece of relief looking for that sweet release 6 feet deep I’ve sown the seed now let the reaper reap

Oh, wow, the vocal treatment and melody drips dread all over that chorus, seriously bleak. Great collab, glad it came to a unique place.

I love that rolling bass line. Trippy chorus! You guys both killed it with your rhymes. Another solid entry fellas.

What!??? Dropping a f*k’n Ernest reference in your rhyme!? I bow down to you sir 🙌

Another book of lyrics. thats probably my fawm output. The droney music gives it that "whatever" feel! love where the vox comes in from all angles!

Great collaboration once again! I love this instrumental, it really stands out, it's almost psychedelic rock. Tim's flow is perfect. You've created something truly unique, it's great! Congratulations to you both.

Adam has a way with rhythm. Your lyrics are key and your voice smokes! Great bars, Great musicians. Great job, Guys!

without the relentlessy surprising rhymes, this piece is closer to a victorious performance at a poetry slam than a rollercoaster of rap. adam hits the groove at around 45 seconds into it and never lets up. The music is perfect for the words and those words hit hard

I can relate to the "existential dread" that are some of these lyrics. Killer bass.
