A Song That Doesn’t Rhyme

Skirmish: That doesn't rhyme (@200ghosts)Liner Notes
#skirmish This was harder than I thought. Even though I have been told I'm the queen of near rhymes, once in a while I throw in a perfect one. I had to restrain myself..
Lyrics
In a world of filtered photographs Where laughter is rehearsed You sand away humanity With careful chosen words
The voice that cracks, a note that quivers A pulse of truth in a plan that falters Life is most alive In a song that doesn’t rhyme
Why polish up my messy dreams Like crystal bound to break Or hold it near the brightest light Searching for a scrape
The voice that cracks, a note that quivers A pulse of truth in a plan that falters Life is most alive In a song that doesn’t rhyme

Heck yeah, I love a near-rhyme and these are so good! Really poignant lyrics, too. Fabulous.
Yup, the near rhymes definitely work well! I’m a big fan of using them more than perfect rhymes. This avoids cliche and keeps your lyrics feeling fresh. Nice write!
This is powerful! We strive for perfection, but is it human? Incredible work
Ooo so fun! I especially like the quivers/falters off-rhyme.
this is brilliant. The near rhymes are so good and I love how you let this concept shape what the song is about too. I strongly believe that perfect is boring. I'd much rather see the humanity behind what someone is expressing. That's where the beauty lies. Life is most alive in a song that doesn't rhyme is such a great hook. Really, really love this.
