Mr. Moneybags

Liner Notes
It is a bear to track and mix and sing with a stopped up head and stuffed eustaician tubes...but I managed to bang this out. With the crud I couldn't sing the vocal parts I really wanted to, so this is kind of unfinished. But it's there anyway...a prog-metal jeremaiad against the morbidly rich and their surveillance state...

Lyrics
Deep within gilded halls Networks of influence to do your bidding Only the bottom line matters at all With nary a thought for the souls you’re oppressing
There’s a gleaming in your eye Gazing upon all that you control You can never amass enough to satisfy What can you trade for your soul?
Mr. Moneybags
Pulling levers, greasing wheels Barter, cheat and lie and steal You seek to destroy all that lies in your way
You see yourself as many things An evil eye who seeks the ring A self-styled prophet of imagined futurism
There’s a gleaming in your eye Gazing upon all that you control You can never amass enough to satisfy What can you trade for your soul?
Do have any shred Of humanity left? Or is your conscience finally numb to others’ pain Did you think, did you know How far you were willing to go Was it worth whatever you gave in trade?
-guitar solo-
There’s a fire burning in your eye Gazing upon all that you controlled Did the camel fit through the needle’s eye? What did you trade for your soul?
Mr. Moneybags

Wow! This had me bopping from the get-go. Great beat, wonderful full sound, and a catchy melody. What's not to like? The vocal sounds great to me. I can't tell you have a cold. This feels a bit like a cross between some of those great tunes Led Zeppelin gave us and those of Bachman Turner Overdrive as well. Great stuff!
As for the lyrics, well, you are so eloquently saying exactly how I've been feeling lately, having been inundated with all the horrific revelations unveiled in the Epstein files (or should I call them, as Jimmy Kimmel does, the Trump Epstein files). Anyway, lately if feels like the world is being run by a pack of narcissistic greedy monsters who view everyone in the world as their servants, unless they are family or a fellow billionaire. Sorry for the rant, but that's what great lyrics can do to me when they hit home as these ones do.
Oh man, I feel your pain. Blocked Eustachian tubes utterly suck, particularly when you're trying to come up with a balanced mix. If it's any consolation, this sounds absolutely epic. So jealous of those vocal harmonies!
Love the heavy groove with the organ. Great harmonies, just a great vibe and storytelling. It does feel like there's some empty space after each repetition of "Mr. Moneybags" where the energy kind of stagnates. Feels like it needs some kind of ad libs or harmonic changeup.
The rock song was already great, but with the organ, it's awesome. The vocals are perfect too, it really grooves! The bass is really great, both the sound and the instrumentation. The chorus is truly epic!
Welp, this is pure awesomeness. Also, retweeting what David said down yonder! Those harmonies are so Crosby stills and Nash vibes! Holy cow, u hit me in my soul.
Wow the chords and melodic leading are so strong here. And then you also go crazy with that lead guitar! Already sounds like a classic
This still sounds ace, you know. Well done for fighting through. If you’re holding back a bit on the vocals, then the benefit is that on those sections with the big harmonies, you sound like Crosby, Stills and Nash 😀. Also the guitar tone on the main riff is so tasty I basically want to spread it on my toast and eat it right up! So nice that you put your gear list down so I can immediately start planning future purchases 😂. This is also a righteous target - is it just me, or do the ultra wealthy never seem particularly happy about owning 99% of everything? Anyway, I’m rambling now, loved this one, well done 👏
Love that stanky riff. Powerful lyric this: "You can never amass enough to satisfy / What can you trade for your soul?" WHOA I love whatever mode you're using for that guitar solo in the middle! And that fade out ending is just perfect.
Stuffed up head and eustachian tubes... been there, friend. Rest and healing to you.
Cool groove. The riff and drums lock in brilliantly. Love the organ usage. The chorus opens up nicely after the groove of the verse. Awesome mystical feel to that solo. Nicely done.
A great song reminiscent of all the bands I grew up with. Add some rush. A dash of rainbow and deep purple. Add some Led Zeppelin bitters . Shake with some spirits and ice and you have a great song. My hat is off to you sir.
Very proggy and light metal ballad - almost like soft Sabbath- then goes off on those bid US bands (styx etc). So catchy , lovely build - so much to listen to, a real treat for the ears. yeah epic even more so with your issues!
