Lyrics

Sold A Bill of Goods (Dargan)

Em G D What happened over there, I will not tell you Em G D What I did over there, I cannot say Am Em I wish I’d never gone D Em How I wish I’d never gone C D Em And if I could, I’d go back again today

We went over there because we wanted to We went over there ‘cause we were told I wish I’d never gone How I wish I’d never gone And if I could, I would go back a thousandfold

D C

We were sold… We were sold a bill of goods D C D Em We were sold… We were sold a bill of goods

The only rule was there were no rules The only goal was stay alive I wish I’d never gone How I wish I’d never gone But I would stay to help my brothers to survive

CHORUS

F D Every second was an hour F D Every minute was a day F D Couldn’t see the bigger picture F D Em Now they’re packing us away…

I really like how the lyrics leave enough specificity out to be relatable and intriguing. Excellent vocals with those lyrics, too! This has a very smooth and natural flow—all of it just felt right. Very well done!

Effectively earnest and powerful, yes. Adventurous use of reverb on the harmony vocals (I might have to steal that :-) A keeper for sure!

A great take on a war song. The lyrics are powerful, and it's very well performed. I really enjoyed it.
