Crazy Side Streets
Skirmish: I Turn To You (@s7even)Liner Notes
#skirmish #acousticrock A rougher demo than my usual. My Alice Cooper influences are showing here.
Lyrics
Get me out of here I say that a lot I hope no one can hear I hope I don’t get caught
Now the quickest way out Is to walk out the door Turn the key to the right Press my foot to the floor
Get in the car Turn on the beats Head on over to the crazy side streets
It’s not just being myself It’s not just seeking distraction I want to get off the shelf I want a piece of the action
When it’s the constant frustration I know what that can cost And it feels like isolation Locked in a war with the boss
Get in the car Turn on the beats Head on over to the crazy side streets
There must be A place for me Somewhere But for now I know how And where
To get out of the blues To get out of the hype Forget the avenues I guess I’m not that type
See the bigger picture Be a part of the plan Get into the mixture You do what you can
Get in the car Turn on the beats Head on over to the crazy side streets
Get in the car Turn on the beats Head on over to the crazy side streets

Yes, I can hear Alice Cooper too. Awesome lyric and performance, vocal delivery, guitar & all. Enjoyed listening.
I could hear this as an Alice Cooper rocker, drum breaks after "crazy side streets", electric guitars with a "school's out" rhythm. Nice take on the skirmish.
The sound you've got here instantly takes me into the scene, somehow both energetic and melancholy. I also like how you use "turn" in other senses—turn the keys, turn on the beats.
Very interesting idea here to take turns with a car, or turning the key. Liking the 'engine running' sound of your strumming.
Good portrait of your frustrated narrator. I can believe in him easily. This would sound great with a full band treatment.
