Final song for my batch of Valentine's Day songs for my awesome girl, my best friend, my partner forever.

Our 5th Anniversary was this December, and this will be our 5th Valentine's Day today! I write this as I'm huddled in my messy office and she's prepping for a cold day date full of wandering and being sappy sadsacks. This is the way.

I wanted to get these 5 songs out this morning because they serve as the emotional core for the album that's slowly amassing out of tangled cables and discarded post-it notes with bad lyrics scribbled on them.

The song starts with an ambient intro that I felt bridged the gap between Walk With Me and anything after. It didn't feel right adding anything to that track (my brain works in weird ways), but this track is fair game.

I feel like there should be so many more layers in both the ambient part and the song part, but I fear I won't have the time or energy to add anything. Due to the nature of FAWM, and life, and how I wrote most of these tracks, I'm so far removed from this and working on other stuff to the point where I wouldn't know where to begin.

The point of these songs (and really everything I do) is to leave a time capsule for me to know exactly how I felt at a certain point in my life. These specific lyrics actually started as sporadic poetry, until I cut and added some syllables so they could work in song.

I love my partner, and as I'm quickly trying to get my point across, I hear her puttering out with our kittens, and I know that, despite all the shit that we've been through (separately and together), despite all the horrible ways our brains talk to themselves, we're better people because of each other. She makes it easier to like myself, and I knew around mid-February 2024 (my first FAWM) that I would dedicated 2026's FAWM to her, for our 5th anniversary.

Anyways, I'm rambling, but these songs were always for her, and they'll always be hers.
