12. Walk With Me (IV)
Liner Notes
4th track for my Valentine's Day collection of songs, and the last of the Old Ones. This was intended for our 3rd Anniversary, December 2023, and I think I recorded it in the summer? But I never really finished it. I hit the first chorus and my energy and ambition frittered into dust.
I really thought about finishing it, truly, but to me songs are time capsules, and I tend to love songs less the more I analyze and edit and work on them. I think it works as this short and sweet little piece, but for the liner notes, and any of the 4 folks who read this, I hear this and feel a bit disappointed in myself.
It comes from a deep place of love and care, of course, I just wish I got it to my partner on time. But here it is, and I don't think she's heard this at all since I put some headphones on her, a few years ago, so I hope she loves the "sexy" little falsetto I did for her.
Thanks for listening
Lyrics
Verse: The music drifts on down Like a bad belief with good intentions, And skips my heart just like a stone. I'm sinking now and
All my convictions Are at the bottom with all the things I'll never know, So I'll meet you up the road.
Another dying art With another little Love song for you. Before the end,but after the start,
Walk with me and Breathe in the world of ours; The faded streets and folded tarot cards, And I'll hold you in the dark.
Pre-Chorus: Wrap me up Head to toe With all your love, and all you know.
Chorus: When I'm next to you, I belong, And I promise I Will do you know wrong.
You're a melody That I can't forget, And I'll let you hold My heart in your hands.

Nice subdued vocals and a soft bed of music, I can tell these are genuine lyrics which automatically makes it a better love song than half of the pop music out there.
This is so beautiful!! "So I'll meet you up the road"!!! Love all these connections <3 The harmonies here are so so good. I love the short & sweet in this, it's perfect. I totally get feeling bummed about something you didn't finish when & the way you wanted to. But this track stands really strong right here now <3 Lovely work
