2nd of my Valentine's Day batch of songs, and the first song here that was pre-written/recorded. If I had my way it wouldn't count towards the song goal this year, but it fits and works with the project as a whole (and has a story), so I had it in here with the actual FAWM songs.

In and around December of 2022, my partner and I's 2nd anniversary, I wrote and recorded this song for her. I was in a fairly sizeable writer's block that wouldn't be broken until I discovered FAWM in 2024. I had written one other song explicitly for her in 2021, alongside some other songs that were tangentially ABOUT her, but they were all on a longwinded concept album about space and isolation, so like...did they really exist?

This song (and the two songs after this) were like these pulses of creativity in a dark sea. I knew at some point I wanted these songs to exist on an album just for her, so here they are.

I think the thing that started this song was messing around with my vocals at the beginning and looping them, which goes through the whole track. Honestly, I can tell from the way I wrote and recorded this that I was in a bad place, but I wanted to give my partner something. It feels more at home on my first FAWM album than this one, which is a little more positive.
