Ever Just A Dream
Liner Notes
This one surprised me. I think this ended up being about acceptance. The kind where you can still care about someone long after the future you imagined together quietly dissolves. No crisis, no betrayal. Just life, and time, and distance.
I also mixed it up by doing most of it on acoustic instruments. The drums are midi drums in Cubase Groove Agent, but the rest I did with a Rode NT-1000 mic and acoustic instruments. And some effects on the vocals.

Lyrics
This could have been forever Hand in hand just you and I This could have been our ever after Hand in hand across the sky
Our love’s a dandelion bouquet The winds of change come and blow our seeds away
As the story ages Tearing at the seams What could have been forever Is ever just a dream
This could have been forever Hand in hand just you and I This could have been our ever after Hand in hand across the sky
Long after we remove our tattoos I’ll still be here for you
As the story ages Tearing at the seams What could have been forever Is ever just a dream

Ooh, that dandelion/wind imagery is so evocative! Definitely a fan of those low harmonies in your chorus, too.
These were some really rad lyrics, but this particular line stood out to me: “ Long after we remove our tattoos I’ll still be here for you” that’s just some really cool imagery! I also really loved musically how that choir sounded. Really nice listen!
