Liner Notes

@kristian : so little spare time! @robynmackenzie asked me "Are you familiar with Night Club?" too which I replied "yes, I have been to one before!" .. then we all laughed merrily and drank coffee. At least I wish I had replied something clever, I think I just answered "no" like the dweeb I am but she insisted I listen to them. Which I did cause I never leave a damsel in distress; and hey! they are really cool! so this is our "lets try to write a song like that with emphasis on try"

@robynmackenzie: THE SCREAM I SCRUMPT WHEN I SAW THIS WAS POSTED. I love collabing with @kristian any time but this one was particularly fun. As usual he worked his magic and came up with something sparkly and wonderful and awesome that I couldn't have imagined when I threw down the raw vocals. Super happy with this.

Lyrics

This is a note to @robynmackenzie to paste in the lyrics cause she didn't give me them. But it's about her love of skiing and doughnuts. oh, and cake. always cake.

I do love doughnuts and cake, as long as they are gluten-free. However, I saw the horror movie Frozen and have no desire to ski. You get eaten by wolves or something.

I can feel your heartbeat when you're calling my name But it's shattered, doesn't matter, it's all the same You got a wish and you're making your play Hope you get it, just forget it, it's a game

And when the night goes quiet that's when you're running lost in the dark Beware the ghosts that would rather eat your heart Sing to me of the willow trees and the teeth that gleam like the stars Light the match and burn the bridges of who we are

I can feel your mind when you're thinking of me It's like static, subtle magic, let it be We are wasps who pretend to be bees So erratic, so magnetic, can't you see

I'm here Behind your eyes I'm here Inside your lies

And when the night goes quiet that's when you're running lost in the dark Beware the ghosts that would rather eat your heart Sing to me of the willow trees and the teeth that gleam like the stars Light the match and burn the bridges of who we are

I'm here Behind your eyes I'm here Inside your lies

I can feel your heartbeat when you're calling my name

That's quite the track!

Well I’ve been transported back to the 80’s and im here for it!! Pure euro pop. The pumping bass is really cool! Great lyrics Robin and the melody is perfection!

This is a real highlight for me this year. So well produced.

Groovy electro influenced pop music. This is such a great fit musically, lyrically, vocally.

Holy smokes! This is absolutely top notch! Everything about it just sparkles Not kidding - this is one of the best songs of FAWM26 for me. 🥳🥳🥳

Wow this one is a powerful super collab. Like something I would have heard on MTV back in the day. Now I want to hear the liner notes lyric interpretation.

that is the coolest melody and the lyrics maintain an originality filled with twists and surprising. brilliant phrasing.

@ryuu

Pure synthpoppy goodness. That interplay of arps is really clever and man, it took me a moment to grasp just how creepy those lyrics are.

Oh, this is rad! Manic sparkles made razor sharp by frozen cold. How does this song have a temperature? 'burn the bridges of who we are' What a line!

Wow, this is epic! Robyn's vocals shine here and this is a masterful job by Kristian on the instrumentation. You captured the club vibe perfectly.

I am dancing... I can't dance... yet I dance! This is pure awesomeness

Groovy tune, you two! I am in love with the vocal melody and the stellar production. Those pads!! Those harmonies! Smitten.

[pic]

Love the way it opens up with the backing pads and harmonies in the chorus. Change-up/middle eight parts are great ear-resting areas from the beats.

Such a vibe! I really enjoyed this, it feels very danceable! :)
