Superstitious too

Had another go, this time a bit more jaunty
Lyrics
You broke the bedroom mirror And opened an umbrella in doors You left a dead man’s shoes on the kitchen table He’d remove them himself, but he just isn’t able
A black cat crossed my path twice And I stood on a crack in the pavement So far I haven’t seen anything bad I realise that’s a “tempting fate” statement
It all started out with the Norsemen Who were tricked in the halls of Valhalla And the carpenter held his last supper Where the traitor shared his bread and his butter
And we think these things are related Like a cosmic sense of humour Something that’s endlessly debated They spread through time like all good rumours And tumors

I wonder if you had the image of the dead man's shoes on the table as your first inspiration - it's just so evocative. And with your rhythm and playing, I kinda feel like they're shuffling out a dance, too. That verse about the Norse and the last supper is just fantastic writing. An amazing story arc, really, bringing it all around to 'things are related.'
I could sit and listen to you sing all day. Great job with the challenge!
I love all your unlucky things! Even a dead man's shoes! This is so great!
Killer lyrics! "dead man's shoes....just isn't able" "related like a cosmic sense of humor". Well done lyrics and playing, too.
