This song began as a FAWM collaboration when Patty (@greengrassgirl) shared her lyrics and invited me to help bring them to life musically. She described The Same Blue Dot as a reflective piece about individual paths and human experience, while leaving the musical direction open for interpretation. Early on, I explained that I was working transparently with AI tools this year to move quickly due to a busy season of life, and she was supportive of that approach, noting that AI is “here to stay… so we might as well use it, carefully.”

I created an initial draft based on her guidance (“something reflective… sophisticated and comforting”) and sent it to her before posting. She responded enthusiastically, while also offering specific notes about vocal pronunciation issues she heard. I experimented with an alternate version using a different vocal style to address those concerns, and we compared both together. In the end, we chose the original version because it carried the strongest energy and emotional arc.

The final song reflects a straightforward, collaborative process — quick drafts, honest feedback, and shared decisions — combining Patty’s lyrical vision with my approach to composition, production, and experimentation.
