Liner Notes

another dark pop piece – a theme you'll see in some of my tracks. wanted to do something with heavy bass and juicy synth. vocals on vocals for this one too, lots of backing! enjoy xx ౨ৎ ˖ ࣪⊹

Lyrics

i see what i want and i like what i get i got you fiending like a cigarette and i’m a lit match i know you’re attached

my penmanship can write you into existence i’d snap my fingers, conjure you in an instant if nothing i am persistent i’ll go the distance

dark stranger i don’t think we’ve introduced and it’s the last call of the night for one more gin and juice the tension rising what’s the use in fighting chemistry igniting phantom fireworks in my body

we close at midnight then the party begins exclusive guest list, guess i’ll let you in the bass in your chest and you under my skin an angel tempted by the devil’s sin

dark stranger i don’t think we’ve introduced and it’s the last call of the night for one more gin and juice the tension rising what’s the use in fighting chemistry igniting phantom fireworks in my body

Haunting vocal. Feels like a film noir meets a neon sign in an alley on a rainy night. The way it apprehends my mood is telling. Nice job!

i love the imagery!! thank you for listening :))

@njihe

WOW, your voice, dammit, and how it is recorded and produced! sad cool music, I love it! Too bad I was listening to this with rather bad speakers, the deep bass would've sounded juicier with bigger elements! If you were in my country I'd book you a gig in a heartbeat.

aw this is such a nice comment! well if you're ever looking for a singer from the states you know who to ring!

Your vibe is immaculate you tell this emotional story with great lyrics on top of draw you in music, and the vocals are amazing! I particularily like the lines: the tension rising what’s the use in fighting chemistry igniting phantom fireworks in my body

Beautifully phrased! Awesome song :D

thanks again for your thoughtfulness! i so appreciate all your reviews and comments, it means a lot ♡

The vibe on this one is infectious and insidious. I love the way that you collapse distinctions between exterior / interior and body / soul. Plus your lyrical wordplay is really fun too. (BTW: Dark Stranger is a great phrase -- maybe that's the album title?!)

[pic]

ah that is such a good title for the album if i didn't already have it planned out :'). maybe i'll release a smaller ep of my dark femme pop tracks with that title. just noodling... thank you for stopping by and for the kind comment. "infectious and insidious" are such fun words to describe this!

Love the intro. So mysterious. The mood here is very noir. Could imagine the smoky office and the femme fatale characters. Especially in the first verse. Dark stranger I don't think we've introduced is great line.

[pic]

ooh i love the vibe and imagery. thanks for sharing! i happen to love that line as well :)).

Great song! - what a groove - I really noticed all of the layers going on and it keeps the track super interesting and compelling. Love the dark vibe to it too, it definitely fits the late night theme of the song.

awesome! thank you for paying attention to the details i put into this song, it's so appreciated.

Wow! This is amazing. Love the sounds here. I feel that this song is a movie song. Lot`s of feeling into it. Great work.

thank you!! ♡

I like this very much. It has something very tender and dark at the same time.

thank you!

There’s an almost eastern vibe to this, especially in how you bend your vocal. Not just the FX but the singing style. A mysterious quality to it and very rhytmical. The bass is heavy but nicely laidback and makes a great backdrop together with the minimalistic beat. The lyric plays like a little short film. Felt almost like an electrical shock in headphones when the voice kicked in, superloud! but also an interesting contrast and effect. Definitely gets you out of your slouched position!

[pic]

lol! the superloud vocals were definitely an oops when mixing, i adjusted a bit. glad it got you up though... thanks for the kind review. i really appreciate the layers to it!
