When we arrived in the Netherlands, I had to find new forests to walk in, new places to discover along the way.

There is a landgoed I found when we arrived, one of the many old estates turned into public parks, where I saw a face carved into a tree. I thought that was the only secret there - the old man guarding the land - but then, after nearly a month walking those paths, I discovered the little fairy houses at the base of several trees.

We settled down somewhere else, but I keep that special place in my heart when I am out exploring. I am glad this land has magic for me to find, in my new home.

Lyrics

Home Jemma Kline

A tiny little path, a tiny little door, A face upon a tree I simply can’t ignore. I left behind my pines and lakes, I miss the chipmunks, ticks, and snakes, But oaks and willows, bramble berries, Crows and sparrows, hidden fairies, Tell me that one day I’ll find my home.

An ivy covered arch, a hidden garden glen, A child’s silver laugh; they softly call me in. The houses may be smaller here, But late at night I feel no fear, For cats and horses, seagull laughter Noisy neighbors, magpie chatter Tell me that one day I’ll find my home.

We had a house, and goblin stones, A mossy hill, to call our own. I loved the trees, I loved the land, I loved the water, loved the sand. But knew one day we had to leave our home.

A windy little town, a windy lonely shore, The stories from the west I simply can’t ignore. I learn of beatings, guns and dread, See the signs of evil spread, Yet words of kindness, words of greeting Gentle people that I’m meeting, Tell me that this place can be my home.

I've been in Lord Of The Rings mode lately, and this gives me that fantasy world feeling. Your love of nature is so genuine throughout this lovely piece.
