Write A Song

Liner Notes
Catching up from the lyrics I wrote last week on the ship. Just a fun, maybe inspirational song. #mandolin #singersongwriter #garageband
Lyrics
Write a Song
[Verse] Now, I want to write a song, it doesn’t have to be too long. Doesn’t have to be too good, doesn’t have to be too strong.
Don’t use the same old words, try a few new verbs Use a few new rhymes, some speek of the current times.
[Chorus] But most of all, don’t fret about every line Maybe the song will be perfect, but probably not. Play and sing it and have a good time Maybe the song is OK, not the worst you’ve heard or thought
[Bridge] Maybe throw in a cowbell Try to make people smile Play it again You can tweak after awhile. Don’t care about mistakes, write, play and sing With your heart, give it your everything.
[Verse] Your song may be safest if you keep it down inside But your song may be better if you sing it proud and wide
Your song may be safest hidden, but none the less Your song should be sung out loud with no regrets
[Chorus] But most of all, don’t fret about every line Maybe the song will be perfect, but probably not. Play and sing it and have a good time Your song is more than OK, be proud of what you’ve got.

always good to write about writing - the placement of your vocal gives it a bit of an old radio feel. Very nice Linda
Wrote this lyric while watching 8 seamen fix a new sail for the ship, and then watch them rope it up.
You have a lovely singing voice, & what a cheerful melody! This is also an important lesson for me to take to heart since I do tend to be fairly perfectionistic about my FAWM work!
Thank you. I go by AMOGH theory. If a man on a galloping horse notices, then fix it.
Writing about writing is one of my favourite go-tos. And this is fun. 😀 I need to drag my mandolin out again soon.
