Mode nerdery: this is, believe it or not, Ultra Locrian. It's a weird chameleon of a mode that can disguise itself as cheerfully major for a while before showing its true colours, which screamed "Vampire!" to me. Or rather, whispered it.

Lyrics

The nightingale is singing, The evening sky blooms red As I awake from slumber As dreamless as the dead. The summer night is sultry The night will end too soon So I must brave the sunset, The bright, revealing moon.

One open window calls me Across the neighbourhood. The scent of warm flesh wafts from it, Warm flesh, and warmer blood. No raging malice drives me, But rather, endless need, A hunger gnawing in my gut As I fly out to feed.

I’m at the window crooning My vampire serenade. My victim lies, inviting, Asleep and unafraid. Let’s draw a veil over The way I drink my food. I wouldn’t watch you feeding, Invasive and quite rude.

Soon, he shall wake, enfeebled From one more awful night, And idly scratch upon his throat Two more mosquito bites While I shall lie contented Within my cosy tomb. Once you have reached five hundred years You care not who you doom.

A true Vamipre‘s song! The mood sad snd eerie at the same time! And your vocals fit perfect to this music! Great!

Exquisite use of some atypical harmony and modal texture. Fits very well for the lyrical content, and great guitar playing! Very mysterious and ethereal

That IS a weird scale and you picked the most appropriate topic for it. I really like the melody and how you sing it. Spooky and oddly enjoyable. "Let's draw a veil..." - that was funny. And I like the word "enfeebled". I shall use it henceforth.
