I went ahead and worked on Bob's original without letting him know first, because I wanted to surprise him back since he surprised me with something else. Glad I have his blessing to call this a collab and repost it. (@max)

This is great. Smooth on the surface, deep and dark beneath. The "albatross" image is going to stick for me. Thank you for sharing.
Hard not to sing along to this one--nice simple, but wonderful song! Great collaboration! ❤️
What a great song. Nice job collaborating Great sound and vocals
What a fantastic collab you two! Beautiful lyrics, I see why you felt inclined to put it in a pub-like atmosphere, also loving the banjo, nice touch!
Wonderful. Love the lyrics. Such a clear story.. and the tune is a real singalong.
When I heard the original song by Bob I imagined it being sung in a full pub with Shane Macgowan in the centre. Although it is a personal song, many people can relate to it because they know a similar situation. With the added layers, I tried to create a kind of pub atmosphere, in which the rest of the crowd sings along in a subdued manner. Thank you @mckillop for your approval-stamp. It was so much fun to do.
love the lyrics, structure, singing, and the multiple instruments. feels very intimate with a lot of depth too.
