#indie #alternative #full-production #stereorama I have been thinking a lot about human perception and how we only see a tiny portion of reality. It's that way to ensure our survival. If we could see everything we'd be blinded by everything. It's a very tiny hole of survival based perception.. and what we do perceive day to day is very selective.

Lyrics

i see you… through a tiny hole a bit of color a hit to the soul

you're infrared, ultraviolet you're gamma ray i'm blind to but i still feel the burning anyway

i was built to survive yeah, not to see so you turn the volume down dreams come to me

so blue… its invisible to you x-ray looking right on through

i need to… peer through the haze past this filtered elementary gaze

it’s paper thin it’s baked in all of our brains i yearn to see beyond you before the end of days

i was built to survive no, not to see so you turn the volume down dreams come to me

i’m so blue… i’m invisible to you x-ray looking right on through

Beautiful production, so many layers and details, a really wide, kind of silky sound. I find it quite hard to record acoustic guitars but they sound lovely here. The big reverb on the vocal really works on this one too. Great stuff!

You know, I thought I did too.. but it seems to be okay. I'm not doing anything special. I record at a diagonal to the mic and about 3 feet away. I eq a lot of the low end bass out right away so just the essence of the strumming comes through and then compress it a bit to help it cut through the mix. I used to think eq'ing things was a pain but it really helps to clean stuff up. Anyways, thanks, I appreciate the feedback.

I love this electric and acoustic guitar combo. Some great guitar licks you did here! The mix is perfect with that cool reverb! The vocals are incredible, it feels like you can do anything with them!

Thank you! I'm working harder on the licks. I love catchy hooks but they seem to be few and far between. I am actually pretty self conscious of the vocals.. It is literally the end of my range and I was fighting for my life trying to hit those high notes, I bet I looked funny recording it. I think I stood on my tip toes  😬.
