It's All The Same (Forever and Ever and Ever and Ever)

by @jddietz

Liner Notes

i wanted to make a song like unwound but i'm not unwound

Lyrics

I remember I remember how it felt I remember what you wanted me to say Did you ever get the trophies that you wanted? Did you drop that bomb right on your enemy's head? I know I sang along with you I thought that's what you wanted And I know I held your hand I thought that's what you wanted

When all the visa cards expire When all your license plates catch fire When you can't run, you bite the dust When you can't run, you run from us And then you know it's all the same And then you know it's all the same

I remember I remember how it felt I remember what you wanted me to say

I'm getting big Velvet Underground / Spacemen 3 vibes from this! Nice hypnotic groove.

Filing this under “songs that make me want to buy an electric guitar”. As others have said, the build is great. I love that chaos at the end then the resolve. Will have to look up Unwound now. Great job.

That buildup is so cool where you gradually kick up the tempo and then have the whole thing just fall apart just to suddenly come back together. Nice work!

I love how you change the guitar on “when all the visa cards expire,” and then how it all unravels at the end! Also love the line “when you can’t run, you run from us.”

Damn, that grindy chord, just growling in the corner.. high tinkling guitar notes over it is great counterpoint. The build works well..the vocals getting farther and farther away...and then coming back to close it out. Works well.

Dude, this is a ride! The gradual build up into chaos before the fall... low whistle. I dig the imagery of the license plates catching fire, and the "when you run" couplet is going to stick in my brain for a while.
