Lyrics

Chocolate Confession

Verse: Well, there’s a lot going on – trouble comes my way I need a little something to help me through the day Drinking’s not the answer – at least that’s what they say But Chocolate, well chocolate is OK

Verse: There’s a week’s supply in the closet by the door Another stash in the top dresser drawer Worst case, I can walk to the grocery store Chocolate’s what I want, give me some more

Chorus: Hershey bars, Reese’s, Butterfingers too So many choices, I’ll share a few with you Wrappers crinkle, secrets up my sleeve A harmless addition – that’s what I believe

Verse: I bargain with the cupboard, I bargain with my pride Swear I’ll stop tomorrow — then tomorrow’s another lie It’s like an addiction, a need that hides in wait If you want to trap me, chocolate is the bait.

CHORUS

Verse: Chocolate is my weakness, velvet on my tongue A little bit of comfort when the day’s come undone I know it’s a small sin, and I know it’s not love But sugar and cocoa fit me like a glove

Outro: Chocolate is my weakness, and I’m tasting the truth Melted on my fingers, satisfying my sweet tooth.

Delicious lyrics. Great take on the prompt. Yes please, put it to music. I'm joining the line of listeners of your future demo :)

Delicious! Would like to hear it to music. I like the line 'Chocolate is my weakness, velvet on my tongue’

I love this sentence: But sugar and cocoa fit me like a glove. I have that addiction too. A doctor told my mother when I was little: One bar of chocolate a day is okay... oh, after that she heard that from me a lot... Your lyrics are really catchy and beautiful.

That first stanza sets such a particular mood. I love "But Chocolate, well chocolate is OK" as a final line there. Really great -- almost casual, but we know it means more to this narrator. Great write!

Relatable story — and I love the obsessive rhyme scheme for this one.
