Just lyrics for now. Music in mind but you can't hear that. Not to brag but this is number 14!
Constructive criticism is always welcome. Tell me all about it! No AI was intentionally used in this or any of my music.Note: Skirmish: 1 hour to write and record ©2026 John W Hanberry (ASCAP) All Rights Reserved
Lyrics
Rule Bender
Close to the edge Where I want to be You call 'em rules Just suggestions to me I like runnin' One foot on the line If I should cross over That would be just fine
Ch You keep sendin' 'em I'll keep bendin' 'em Takin' chances Just for the sake of a good time You think I'm playin' the fool I'm just playin' it cool You can drive a stake in my heart I'll keep bendin' the rules
Keepin' it loose Lookin' for danger When it comes to cuttin' it close Ain't no stranger If you come along You gonna find We'll have a whole lotta fun Come rule bending time.
Ch You keep makin' 'em I'll keep breakin' 'em That's what their there for And I just don't care I might get thrown out of school If I don't stop playin the fool But you can drive a stake in my heart I'll keep bendin' the rules

Love the chorus, especially you keep sending them, I'll keep bending them! Congratulations on making it to 14 so early in the game!
Great lyrics, and I might not hear your tunes, but I almost hear music due to the great rhythm. Can't help wondering though if this is a Vampire, or why are they mentioning a stake through the heart? 😀
This could make a great punk tune. It is certainly in keeping with that classic attitude.
These are great lyrics, they have a real pace to them. Great skirmish.
Fantastic lyrics and take on the prompt. Rocking from the screen.
I like the attitude of the singer un these lyrics. Good take on the prompt
Hey, great lyrics. Looking forward to the musical version
This feels like a teenage rebellion track, almost emo with the "steak in my heart" line. Gives a sense of anarchy-for-anarchy's sake.
