Liner Notes

An ode to ancient myth and ridiculous loopholes. I half-recalled the story of some ancient Egyptian god inventing intercalary days to get around a rule that applied "during the year". In my quest to refresh my memory I found the the joyous mouthful "epagomenal" so of course I had to crowbar it in to the lyrics.

Lyrics

I don't break them nor do i make them I'm just sly when I do comply

Like the genie, wise and wily Taking it literal, smiling slyly Like St Brigid Cloaked steadfastly At the king's word, it spread so vastly

Nut was forbidden All year to have a babe But a moonlight gamble bought Epagomenal days

So be like the genie Thoth be your school I never break them But I do bend the rules

Thank you for expanding our vocabulary. I think sly compliance might be the way to go. Or not!

Enjoy this take and am interested in the mythology you reference. Just who is St Bridget. Is she related to St David of the Welsh

My mistake, it's spelled St Brigid. This is a reference to the story of her magic cloak.

A very different take on the prompt and an enjoyable listen. Good job.
