The Shine and the Shoe

Liner Notes
I can't go too long without writing an absolute nonsense song.
Lyrics
Where there's a jury, there's a judge where there's a wink, there's a nudge what do you think of when you hear the words run off the page?
When it's early, when it's late when the book hates to make haste where there's a taste of a half-inch waist in frills and lace looking at the face of a man with facial piercings and face tattoos
And it's all for you: the shine, the shoe the wine and Mr Blue singing hey ya driving to Marbella for a day of floating in a wind tunnel
Now change the channel this show's banal an animal floats in a canal wearing soft flannel: a mammal, a camel with a cigarette still in his mouth
Floating south toward the mouth of the river liver and onions on the plate they give ya at the pub in Arundel where you fell under the spell of fresh trout and bitter beer
"Now look here," said the aristocrat to the bear "Get your head on the wall where I keep my hunting trophies" and Sofie, a bumblebee, leaves the tree to see what it can see down by the sea

Another wade through a rhyming dictionary and a group of half linked concepts. And yet again they work! I love that spacey echo music , it's very cool.
I like the rock momentum and energy here; the sound and feel are definitely you, but hypercharged with energy and guitar-and-bass muscle, which is a delightful combination!
I love the sounds of the instruments - it's reminding me of something from the mid/late 80s but I can't place it. Your words over top are perfect for the groove. Definitely has me tapping me foot and nodding my head along.
Really good groove! Love the bass! If there‘s a bear in a song it can‘t be nothing but great!
Those words ... how DO keep them from running off the page? Or maybe they've long ago leapt off and we listeners are crawling around on the floor trying to herd them back into a conga line so we can make sense of them. But at least you've got the beat to keep us thinking about a shimmy down here, while you keep your hacksaw going up on the desk. I like the pub clause the best. Liver, onions, fresh trout and bitter beer. Nothing abstract about that.
i dont think the word "nonsense" has any place in reference to your lexicon. as the mere idea of sense is absent. and i agree with kathy, were sense to rear its head in one of your songs, this is the song in which it would be observed.
Why does it seem to me that this song makes more sense than all the rest? lol! Instrumentation is fabulous! Love the beat and the bass and the breaks

Love the energy you put behind your words. And the wonderful guitar and synth sounds to boot. So great!
