This is gorgeous, full stop. I enjoy the kinda floaty nature of it, it's not rigid and to a strict beat like a metronome, it's just you and your voice and instrument. As you say, you like the essence of the song, and it's got a great essence, for sure. I could hear some great, haunting harmonies being laid down in the background.
