Liner Notes
Do you like synths? I like synths. Here are some synths.
I think this is Dream Pop. It's even using the EZDrummer Dream Pop kit. But genres are so intensely fragmented now that it might not be. Either way, it's got synths. A lot of them.
Does every section in the song need to be in a different key? Yes, because I don't understand how to play keyboard. I am just hitting random keys and then I'm like "Oh, that was apparently a Bbmaj7. Neat. Clearly G major should go next, I know how to play that one."
Lyrically, a song about longing. Possibly from afar. What is our protagonist longing for? Probably synths.
That's a real guitar. I probably could have been a synth. There are like 7 vocal tracks here, but they're all real quiet because they were getting in the way of the synths. And the vocals are run through a plugin called VocalSynth. (Really.)
After FAWM, I might work on this some more. I think it could use some more synths.
Lyrics
V Your Silhouette in the Dark is what I see when I close my eyes
You aren't here in Dark Good night from a thousand miles away
PC I never know when I might see you again The space we share is nothing I comprehend
C Savor Savor you
V Bird calls in winter Holding out for spring
When will be the next time I can hear you sing
PC You're what stands above the white noise Striking notes and holding them with poise
C Savor Savor you

This sounds great, and those liner notes are fantastic. I really liked this.
Moar synths!!! I love the sounds you've achieved with them, and the song does go on a great journey with them. I especially liked the little tinkling ones way at the back, they are fabby! I also really enjoyed the guitar sound, it's one I like myself so I'm kinda biased, but it does make a lovely contrast accent! I found your strong vocals an interesting choice. A lot of these songs go for heavily processed, almost "disinterested" voice stylings, sitting their vocals back into the wallpaper of the song more, but yours are up front and bold. My only thought is that it's different from what I've heard before, not that this is bad! And again, this might be some expectations just given by a dreampop label? The lyrics are lovely and indeed, I've been savouring this song!
So much longing and dreamy synths. I like the range you've used for you vocals here, and the quiet layers still add texture and depth. Those low notes in the chorus you sing are really lovely. It's the rest from the reaching.
Who doesn't love a good synth? I love the sonic vibe this gives, it's like a little sad but also a little hopeful. Very yearning. Bird calls in winter Holding out for spring When will be the next time I can hear you sing
This might be one of my favourite little stanzas of all time, it's also very appropriate for the time right now what with all the snow and the fact it was the first day of positive temperatures around here in awhile. Always a pleasure to listen to your creations and I too am now yearning for more synths!
You've got a great start here as far as arrangement goes...I like the sounds so far. Your lyrics are simple yet really evocative...really nicely written. I like this song! Being a 1970 model who came of age in the 80's I have a soft spot for this kind of synthpop...at the time seeming to portend a future of amazing possibilities. And now look....but I babble...anyway, lovely track!!
This track is mixed to perfection! The synths and your voice blend together beautifully, and I can hear some Pink Floyd inspiration in certain passages. Well done!
