Lyrics
This tune came up pretty much complete, at a farmers market. The name came from the sidewise stepping of the tune and a photograph of the Flycatcher made by Dave Dearnley, a delightful photographer and fabulous guitarist I had the joy of playing with for a couple of years early on.
Instrumental simple single jig

Such a lovely tune. Very uplifting !
Hey, this is a lovely tune, it's so infectious, I can imagine this would make a great tune for a ceilidh
I love that this pretty tune came to you fully formed. It does sound like it exists across time. Beautiful
This feels like dancing a folk dance holding hands and mooving together. Beautifull title. I suppose those flycatchers birds twirl and draw arabesques in the sky, searching for food.
Always appreciate your melodic sense.. lovely jig here - fun to hear the keyboard melody supported by guitar. It works so well!
Farmers markets are productive places, eh? I love the "sidewise stepping" (which I wouldn't have known how to characterize but that describes it perfect) of this tune, and tying it to this bird seems appropriate. I love your tunes generally, but this one stands out especially.
(also, stay tuned: I've almost completed my (self-given) "assignment" from one of your previous tunes . . .)
Cool! Keep me posted.
Love this Pippa.. so delightful and happy.. found myself humming along.
Oh, this sounds so beautifull! You got such a special way to create your music! I really like that!
