Liner Notes

I saw a toy truck sitting on the bench at the park

Lyrics

A toy truck waits, forlorn, On a bench, all alone. Raindrops fall, the sky's worn, Sounds of childhood, now gone.

Rusty wheels, memories fade, I feel silent echoes of laughter. In the rain, dreams betrayed, A heart breaks, ever after.

Once it rolled, down the street, Joyful shouts, in a carefree way. Now it sits, in the rain's beat, Lost in shadows, dreams stray.

Where are you, little friend? In the storm, hope feels thin. Waiting for love to mend, But the rain just won’t end.

A toy truck waits, forlorn, On a bench, all alone. The sun sets, hearts are torn, Sounds of childhood, now gone.

Ah, this lands in a bittersweet place, especially at these last lines. My favorites are:

In the storm, hope feels thin. Waiting for love to mend, But the rain just won’t end.

I feel that!
